Born in 1954 in Artvin. He published his first drawings when he was a high school student in Ankara, while he was studying architecture, he put together a numbers of politic designs, and flyers and banners for Architecture magazines, newspapers Cumhuriyet and Politika and many union magazines. In 1978 he went to Paris and finally moved there. His drawings published in Le Monde, Le Monde Diplomatique, La Nouvel Observateur and many magazines and in newspapers. He wrote and drew children’s books, banners, magazine and book covers. His drawings started to be published in many magazines in Europe and USA. His drawings in The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Time, The New York Times, The Boston Glove, The Nation etc. were presented via his solo exhibitions in Ankara, Istanbul, Paris and Roma. He often made his drawings into books. Selçuk Demirel published more than thirty design albums and drew for a similar number of children and adult books.
