Founded in 2006, Onmara Workshop Gallery managed by Nurten Deniz, represents modern art by doing workshops and organizing exhibitions with an understanding of contemporary art. .
As a workshop, Onmara reproduces the artist’s original prints, provides work space, gives consultancy on artworks and artwork application service for living spaces. In addition to this, arranges interviews and has a library of universal arts and a collection that consists of Modern Turkish artists. As a gallery, it organizes solo and group exhibitions for selected artists every year since its foundation. Paintings, sculptures, ceramics, print paintings and patterns are featured in the periodical exhibitions. As well as co-operating with Modern Turkish artists, they’re co-operating with young artists who created their unique language with their arts.
The name Onmara is formed by combining words of Luvians who lived in Anatolia in the second century. “On” means “universe” and “Mara” means “sea”. It aims to exist in the “sea of arts” by its role in educating artists in the creation process and spreading art with exhibitions.
